Coach Lael Fresenius enters her 11th season at LBVBC.  Known for her competitiveness and volleyball savvy as both a player and coach, Coach Lael brings an abundance of knowledge and passion for the game.  During the previous ten seasons she has coached various age levels, attempting to instill the same drive and understanding of the game in all of her players. 

A local product out of Dana Hills High School, Coach Lael enjoyed a successful juniors career, earning a spot on the Volleyball Monthly "Fab 50" in her senior year.  She went on to play at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she continued to excel, being named All-American in her senior year as well as Cal Poly SLO's Athlete of the Year.  Following her successful collegiate career, Coach Lael competed professionally on the beach with the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals), WPVA (Women's Professional Volleyball Association), and BVA (Beach Volleyball America) tours. 

In addition to coaching club volleyball, Coach Lael has spent time coaching at the high school level.  She served as Head Girls' Varsity Volleyball Coach at Dana Hills High School for six years (2004-2009) and was also the Head Girls' Junior Varsity Coach at J Serra High School (2012).  

Coach Lael resides in Laguna Niguel with her daughters. She continues to enjoy playing volleyball and has instilled the same love for the game and desire to compete in her three daughters. Two of her daughters currently play volleyball at the collegiate level. Coach Lael also serves as an assistant coach for both the beach and indoor women's volleyball teams at Saddleback College.
