Eric Buss
Eric has been a youth club coach for the past 7 years, most recently coaching a Girls 12-1s team with a local club organization. He played volleyball from an early age, spending the majority of his club years with the Torrance Volleyball Club in Los Angeles. Eric played all four years in High School as the Varsity Setter for the Palos Verdes Peninsula High School team; 3 years team MVP, 2 years First Team All League, 1-year All-League MVP. He set in six Jr. Olympics, participating in the both the Quarter and Semi-finals and receiving both 1st and 2nd Team All-American awards. He was selected as a setter to the 18U US Olympic Development Program at the age of 17 until an unfortunate injury forced a reconsideration of his future in volleyball.
Eric chose to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he met his wife Kerry their freshmen year and tried his hand with other “sports”; Rodeo Team, Cal Poly Bowling Team, and a one-year stint as Musty the Mustang (Cal Poly’s Mascot). They have been married for 20 years, have two children (15 and 12), and have been residents of Rancho Santa Margarita for the past 16 years. For the past 5 years, he has worked weekly with local youth programs (Jr. High & High School) as a mentor & Life Group leader. Eric could not be more excited to join the Laguna Beach coaching team.
