We’re excited to welcome Coach Dawn Rentrop to the Laguna Beach VBC Family! A former Division I volleyball player and well-established coach in Southern California, Coach Dawn brings over 12 years of coaching experience at the club and high school levels.

Originally from Southern California, Coach Dawn was a standout volleyball player at Canyon High School in Anaheim, CA, earning All-American, All-CIF, All-County honors during her high school career. She then went on to be a four year letter winner at the University of Washington. Although hampered by injuries, Coach Dawn was named to the All-Pac 10 Freshman Team and several All-Tournament teams. She also earned Best Offensive Player honors. Upon graduating from the University of Washington, Coach Dawn continued her playing career at professional level in 4-woman grass and indoor leagues.

Once she completed her playing career, Coach Dawn transitioned to the coaching side. Since then she has coached at the Cornelia Connelly School, Mater Dei High School, University High School, Northwood High School, and Irvine High School. In 2005 she led University High School to a CIF Championship and was named CIF Coach of the Year.

Coach Dawn graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Sociology. Outside of the gym, Coach Dawn enjoys spending time with her husband and son, volunteering, cooking and baking, traveling, crafting, and gardening.
